State Fair 2019 (First Visit) - Ye Old Mill

Sunday, August 25, 2019

Dale and I had a chance to visit the History and Heritage Center at the West End Market and I took some pics of some interesting information.

I went on it for the first time a few years ago in 2013 with Dale. He didn't get it. The ride dates to 1915 so it's now over 100 years old.

State Fair 2013 (2nd Trip) - Ye Old Mill

This is probably the oldest ride at the fair but I have never in my LIFE been on it. This year I figured it was about time I give it a go. Dale really had no interest in trying it out but was a good sport and agreed to accompany me. How was it? It was very dark the majority of the ride but every so often our personal boat would glide by a diorama of Bambi, leprechauns, or some other such thing. During our last visit I told Charisse that I one day planned to try the ride out. She told me to be sure to give Dale a kiss once we entered the darkness. I did just that but Dale wasn't interested in reciprocating. Oh well. I guess tunnels of love are meant for the young.

State Fair 2012 - Ye Old Mill

I found this photo on Facebook today. The boats are being loaded one by one at the Ye Old Mill ride at the Minnesota State Fair. I have NEVER been on this attraction and my understanding is that it's one of the oldest things at the fair. Maybe I'll have to try it this year.
